In an effort to change my relationship with technology and the modes with which I share my own life experiences, I am starting this blog to deepen exploration of places I find interesting. These places and experiences might be near or far from my own home – I believe if we spend our days trying to look at the world around us with fresh eyes, we can create the joy of travel out of the mundane.
I tend to seek out obscure flavored destinations that are usually family friendly, as a I am a parent of two. The timeline will not be linear, as a nostalgia lover, my posts will be a combination of past experiences and current ones. A self-proclaimed nerd, I love street art, abandoned spaces, and moss covered forests – you will see evidence of these in my photographs – all photos are taken by me unless otherwise noted. I am also a fiber artist, so I will always be looking for artisans in the places I visit to connect with.
My goal is to never use AI to write my posts – and to use it as little as possible in general. This is going to be more effort than some folks require of themselves to build a website, and I hope that provides a special experience. My kids’ faces also will not be appearing on this website as I believe in their autonomy of choice. I don’t shop on Amazon as a matter of principle, and therefore if I ever do product reviews, all links to purchase will be Amazon-free. I may eventually host ads to help fund my explorations, but I never want them to be obnoxious and obtrusive. You can also support my work by “buying me a cup of coffee.”
Maybe folks will relate with what I share here. I hope so!
